The Sunnybank Trust recognised by The National Lottery Community Fund The Sunnybank Trust is delighted to receive a further 5 year funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The award recognises the great work that the charity has achieved and continues to offer its community. The Sunnybank Trust supports adults with learning disabilities in the community across North East Surrey to live without prejudice and have confidence, opportunities and control over their own lives. The Sunnybank Voices, Choices Futures project has enabled the most vulnerable in society to have a voice, develop meaningful relationships and connections. Dorothy Watson, CEO, comments "This award really affirms the work we are doing as well as giving assurance that we can continue to grow and deliver our services through these very challenging times. The National Lottery Community Fund award will allow us to continue to provide essential services to our partners and to support them to live their lives in the way they choose. There is a great sense of pride amongst our staff, volunteers and partners to be recognised in this way". The Voices, Choices, Futures project aims to:

  • reduce isolation and loneliness, thereby improving mental health and wellbeing

  • enable more people with learning disabilities to reach their potential

  • give people a voice in managing their own lives

  • improve the community's knowledge, understanding and inclusion of people with learning disabilities

  • create a sustainable organisation, and reduce dependency on funding by generating revenue

  • improve and develop services by expanding the volunteer base, including volunteers with learning disabilities
