Jacky Oliver trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist and specialised in mental health. She undertook a service management role during the closure of the Epsom Hospital Cluster, involving commissioning new hospitals and community services.
Jacky later took on consultancy work for charities and for 12 years was Chief Executive for the charity Through the Roof. She was also joint founder and, for many years, senior leader of a church and registered charity, Generation, which has a particular emphasis on working with young people and community involvement. Currently she works part time as a Lay Member of Surrey Downs Commissioning Group Governing Board with responsibility for Patient and Public engagement.
She has travelled widely, mainly providing training on disability awareness, which has involved regular visits to Kenya. She is passionate that the voice of seldom heard groups is heard and respected.
In her spare time Jacky loves being with family and friends, gardening, walking, pilates and reading. She also loves her Sat Nav as she has a terrible sense of direction and frequently gets lost without its reassuring voice letting her know she has reached her destination.
