What We Do

We provide the following key services to people with a learning disability:

Friends Programme

We provide a long-term, dedicated friend to one specific individual or home.  Regular visits, support and local outings have many benefits for both the friend and befriender.  Our additional Pen Friend Scheme offers residents the pleasure of receiving written communications throughout the year.
The Community Church holds a weekly non-denominational  service that is run by our volunteers for  some of the residents of local homes who would otherwise not have the opportunity of attending a service.

Kites Social Club

We run a weekly social club offering a range of free activities including arts, crafts, music, dancing, drama, a café, games, visiting performers as well as a place to meet friends, old and new. Regular activities include music making with one of our musicians, table activities such as jigsaws as well as different weekly crafts.

Advocacy Programme

We run an Advocacy Programme, for people with a learning disability who are unable to deal with life-changing choices and simple decisions of their day-to-day lives whilst providing the respect and dignity to which they are entitled. The programme is based upon the citizen advocacy model, and follows the principles of the Advocacy Charter.
