Having grown up in Epsom, Dorothy has always been aware of the barriers that have surrounded people with learning disabilities. Her primary role is CEO, but initially Dorothy joined Sunnybank as the Kites Club Manager, which she still does alongside her CEO duties and being our Drama Co-ordinator.
Dorothy has an arts degree, and started her working life in community theatre with marginalized groups. She also worked as an Account Manager alongside her father at his marketing design company as her ‘day job’, before becoming a project manager for various marketing and advertising agencies. In 1983 she moved to CAFOD as Fundraising and Events Officer, and over the ten years she worked there her roles included being Chair of the Will Aid. She also worked on the launch of the Fair Trade Campaign, the anti-landmines campaign, Disasters Emergency Committee and Comic Relief.
In her spare time Dorothy is often dreaming up new ideas for the drama group or walking her dogs.
