Derek Eade

Having begun his working life as an office clerk with a small public company, now owned by BTR/Rentokil, Derek gained practical experience in many aspects of business.  He then moved on to become a Senior Accountant with Dowding & Doll Ltd., before becoming the Financial Accountant and Ronson Ltd.  Joining the Guy Salmon Group as an Accountant in 1971 lead to Derek taking over as the Commercial Director in 1986.  Derek was also the owner and Chairman of Argent International, before selling the business in 1991.
In his spare time Derek has also been an active member and, for a period, Chairman of the Surbiton Pets Club.  He is also a member of the Ecumenical Church Council, as well as a volunteer driver for several local day centres for people with learning disabilities.  Derek has also been a voluntary Hospital Manager under the Mental Health Act for two groups of NHS Trust hospitals.  He has also spent eight years as a Governor of two local schools.
Derek enjoys playing badminton, watching television, wine-tasting, and dabbling in stocks and shares; he has owned a tortoise for over 60 years.
